Organization Overview: Quality Maternal & Newborn Care supports collaboration in research, education, and quality maternal and newborn care. It houses two groups, the Quality Maternal and Newborn Care (QMNC) Research Alliance and Midwifery at Yale, including an online Global Maternal & Newborn Care certificate program.
Project Overview: The QMNC website started as a simple website that described the mission, vision and programs available to Midwives and researchers in the area of midwifery. When the project was completed, the website was and is a full fledged community website that allows researchers to join the groups and connect others to share and expand their knowledge of midwifery practices.
Solution: The complexity of this project was simplified with the use of WordPress and Ultimate Member Plugin. The Ultimate Member plugin offers a range of features that allowed us to build user profiles, member directories, user registration/login, and restrict access to the community aspects of the site. The website continues to evolve as more people use the site and feedback is collected.
