Organization Overview: The Ronald McDonald House Charities oversees the funding and operations of the Connecticut and Massachusetts Ronald McDonald Houses as well as programs that provide college scholarships to area high school students.

Project Overview: Ronald McDonald House Charities was a typical non-profit in that they had the need for web publishing services but very little budget. The parent organization (rmhc.org) provided the template – look and feel – but the staff lacked the technical expertise necessary to execute the design to a website that reflected the unique needs of their organization. In addition, the site needed to be easy for non-technical staff to update and maintain the content to ensure the latest news, events and fundraising opportunities were promoted.

Solution: In order for this project to be successful, I needed to build a website using the template design AND provide a way for non-technical staff to create and maintain the content on their site. I was challenged with combining three websites – Ronald McDonald House Charities, Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut and Ronald McDonald House of Western, and structuring the site so news, events, and fundraisers displayed on the appropriate sections of the site. In addition, the majority of the staff was  Educate administrative staff to manage and update content as needed.
